In a spirit very much unfamiliar to Gillingham Arts Workshop, we have actually made a conscious effort to raise money! The new Leisure Centre in Gillingham will be a perfect venue for much of our activity. The RiversMeet Partnership, in charge of the venture is trying to get those organizations which will use the Centre to raise funds for fitting ity out.
Gillingham Arts Workshop, together with Miles Away Jazz Group, put on a single performance of a programme about "Age" entitled "I Remember It Well" on Friday 7th May 2010 in the Civic Room of the Town Hall. A packed house were entertained to a variety of words, songs, drama and Jazz, and about £350 was raised for the venture.
The next date for a performance is Friday 9th July, when the theme of "Travel" will be explored.
